My professional fishing career began in 1978 and the first one in WNY to guide for smallmouth. In 2017 a client caught an 8.4lb smallie that tied the NY record and that fish was part of a 35lb limit. I hosted my tv series “ Jim Hanley’s Northeast Outdoors” for 17 years and most recently was inducted into the Great Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame as the first fisherman to receive that honor.
